🎅🏻 Opal 2017 Advent Calendars! 🎅🏻

Morning folks, It's a lovely sunny day here in Bournville and at the time of writing this so it seems to be a bit odd to be telling you about Christmas Advent Calendars! We've put our pre-order in with our supplier for the limited edition 2017 Opal Advent Calendar. Hello there! As you know, we launched our exclusive WYS Marie Curie Yarn in 2017 and sold 1200 balls which enabled us to donate £2,400 directly to the charity - we were overwhelmed with the support & sold out of the limited edition colourway! New Yarn is icing on the cake for Marie Curie!

In our last blog post we mentioned that we would tell you more about our Marie Curie exclusive yarn. If you are familiar with us already you will know that we are avid supporters of Marie Curie as they helped our family tremendously during our Mum's (Christine) final weeks with us back in 2008. Yours Magazine published our story which you can find on the Cityknits Facebook page if you would like to read a bit more detail. Anyway, we are always looking at innovative ways to fundraise and the idea of a special yarn colour-way was born! We worked with our friends at West Yorkshire Spinners (WYS) and designed a very special limited edition colour-way Signature 4-ply yarn especially to raise funds for Marie Curie. We launched the yarn at our Marie Curie Blooming Great Tea Party on 10 th June 2017, at Christine’s Wool Shop in Birmingham & it was an instant hit!
